Well, now...

There's so much to post as well as time getting away from me. We're camping this weekend as one final fling before things get worse! Hannah's starting kindergarten on Monday and her teacher was very impressed with how much she knew and said she's one of the advanced students in the class. I hope Hannah doesn't get too bored and that her teacher can challenge her. Her teacher has been teaching for over 30 years so I think she'll be great. Jaidyn starts preschool on the 8th and I'll have 3 hours M-Th. to my self! I'm so excited to get caught up on cleaning and self care.

We've been fishing several times and I have pictures to share of those trips, we haven't caught anything but we haven't lost our love or hope of catching fish. Maybe this weekend will be good for us.

Marc's health has improved while my cyst has started to become worse. I have an appointment with another Dr. this next month to see what needs to happen. It causes more and more pain every time it flares up which is more than I like. I hope it doesn't require too much to solve the problem, my mom had a grapefruit sized cyst and they had to remove it with her ovary and found it was borderline cancerous. I hope that's not the case with me, but I do know my cyst is pretty large. So, wish me luck on that one.

Marc's brother is coming home from his mission in November, just in time for Thanksgiving. Out of all the siblings, Marc and Bradley are the only ones to serve missions and we're so happy for him. We can't wait to hear more of his stories. Another of Marc's brothers, Michal, is being ordained an Elder sometime soon and we're really excited for him. Marc has an amazing family of which I'm grateful to be a part of.

So, in a nutshell that's what's happening around our part of the world... I'll post many pictures next week with Hannah's first day of school included. I'm so proud of Hannah and the little woman she's becoming. I'm excited for Jaidyn to get to go to school as well so he can branch out and become a better little man. Jaidyn really is an amazing little man now so I'm excited to see just how much better he gets.

Here we go...

So for the past two weeks I've felt like life has gotten away from me and I've been playing catch up the whole time. It's been very frustrating since I feel like such a failure in many aspects of my life. For instance, my calling, I've dropped the ball a couple times and the poor president must be wondering why she wanted me in the first place. I've forgotten to call people, bring necessary items... It's been a bit disheartening for me.

Life has gone nuts as well, I'm in a lot of pain lately and it's drug me down. The house is falling apart and I feel like a failure there too. Where does my time go? I honestly feel like I'm running all the time and have nothing to show for it except a messy house and craziness.
Life also without cable has been surprisingly easier than I thought. We find more creative things to do instead of plop down on the couch and waste the day away. Although right now with Marc working on a project it's hard for me to keep myself entertained and you can only read, cook, not talk or distract for so long... This post has turned into a downer and I'm sorry for those who read it.

We did however go get some fishing poles for all of us and we're excited to get somewhere and fish. We don't though know where we can go that's good up here in Salt lake so if you know of any I'd really appreciate the heads up on where to go. We only know where to go further down south.

Again, sorry for the downer post, I've just needed to get it off my chest and since this is somewhat of a journal of sorts you'll just have to bear with me.

Grateful

I just needed to say how grateful I am for my husband and tell him and all my readers out there just how much I love him. We've struggled recently and because of those trials we've become even stronger than I ever thought we could be. I can say now that I'm grateful for my trials, ALL of them.
Recently I was asked if I had the chance to go back and do things over again what would I change? I didn't have to think long about that and the answers came easily. I'd finish high school instead of leaving early because of pregnancy at 17. I wouldn't go back and not get pregnant though, just like I said before I wouldn't change many of my trials since they've made me who I am today. I'm grateful that because I got pregnant a wonderful mother and father have two beautiful children. I know Heavenly Father wanted those two sweet children to go to them. I would not have tried drinking, smoking and other bad things for my body. I would still choose the direction my life took me though because every day I become more and more proud of who I am. I'm not perfect and never will be but I strive to be a good person.

I am grateful for the repentance process and the Atonement that makes it all possible to change for the better. Forgiveness is sweet and we must remember to forgive as we are forgiven so readily.

So, I love my husband Marc, I love my children Hannah and Jaidyn, I love me, I love my faith and belief in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Update

So, I'm sorry I've been such a slacker lately... There's been stuff going on but I've been lacking the motivation to get on and post.

Here's what's been happening, the ward rearranged the Primary Presidency and I'm still the secretary and I love it. I'm excited for this new presidency and what will be happening in the future. Primary is a fun place to be for sure!

Marc planned a fun get away for this past weekend... He kept it a secret until we barely got on the road. We had some friends join us, Camilla and Maui, which was even more fun. We had some great experiences with them spiritually and of course tons of fun. We went to the Days of '47 Rodeo which was really fun, there was a monkey on a dog that corralled some animals and was really entertaining. We love rodeos so it was fun to finally visit one after so long. This is the first time Marc has surprised me with such a big thing and I really appreciated it.

Yesterday was Marc's birthday. He wanted me to make his new favorite cake which is made with Chai tea and other yummy stuff. Here's the link to the recipe if you want to try it! It's truly amazing for sure. He also requested salmon but I told him we didn't have enough money for it and he said pork chops would be his second choice... Well, we went to the store during the day and I bought salmon for Marc's b-day dinner (which was worth the money sacrifice) and he was really happy and thought it was the best salmon I had ever made. I really appreciate Marc, he works really hard for our family. Even though we've had our recent trials that nearly tore us apart, through a lot of love and outside support we are now becoming an even stronger couple than ever before. We still have a long road ahead of us, but I'm looking forward to the new us and am loving the changes we're making already. He is a wonderful and loving husband and I love him.

We had the great opportunity to witness our brother in law, Daniel, be baptized this week and it was truly amazing. We love them so much!

Yummy Chicken Divan

I always get requests for this dinner as well as the recipe so I thought I'd share. We love this dinner at our house and hope you do to! It's so easy to make. Enjoy!

Recipe for Chicken Divan:

• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
• 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk (enough to make it creamy but not soupy)
• 2 cups cooked, cubed chicken
• 1-1/2 to 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1/8 to 1/4 tsp curry powder or to taste
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 1 package frozen broccoli (florets or chopped, your choice)
• Cooked white or brown rice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×13-inch pan or similar casserole dish. Mix mayonnaise, soup, milk, chicken, cheese, curry powder and pepper. Cook broccoli according to package directions. You can either layer the rice in the pan or leave separate; I prefer to layer. In greased pan layer rice (I use about 4 cups), then broccoli, then chicken mixture. Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until heated through and bubbly on top.

Suggestion: For a family of six I suggest doubling the creamy mixture (mayo, milk, soup, cheese and curry powder) and using three chicken breasts.

Funny article I found

I laughed after reading it since the walkman was really the big thing when I was younger, I used to record music off the radio and make my own tapes to play in it. I really laughed when it said it took the teenager 3 days to figure out that there were songs on the other side!!! HAHA! I love that things that were really cool when I was younger are now "antiques". That's ok, I still love them and still have some cassette tapes.
