My trying times statement

I haven't really had trying times lately, for which I'm very grateful, but when I do I always say a little statement to myself that has really helped. It is, "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD". It's good for us to remember who is in charge and who can also help us in our most trying moments. I sometimes feel disconnected and ignored, but every time I start feeling that way I remind myself of that small, simple statement.

In conference I also learned to not complain about what trials I'm given, but to ask what am I to learn from this? I complained a lot through my most recent trials and now I know that's not the right way to get through it. I'm grateful I could be in the conference center for Sat. afternoon session, it was amazing. I'm also grateful for my trials and who I've become thanks to them.

That is so encouraging, Heather. Thanks for sharing that. It is so awesome to have the perspective of asking what am I supposed to learn from this trial, rather than complaining about it. I need to do that more!
