What else?

Well this year has been a rough one for our health! First my heart which included an MRI, a monitor, then a visit to the ER where I had a pelvic CT, then just this month Marc was diagnosed with 2 kidney stones one of which requires the sound wave treatment and just yesterday I found out I have a 4.2cm ovarian cyst on my right ovary.
That one started out normal, but I was feeling nauseous and kind of like I was pregnant so I went to the Dr. and he did a blood test and found my white blood cell count was up to 15,000 which made him think it could have been appendicitis. So off to the hospital I went for yet another CT scan to rule out my appendix. I figured it was just a cyst, but better to be safe than sorry. BTW, no babies yet.
Marc and I were adding up all the out of pocket expenses and we're at about $5,000. WOW! We are feeling so overwhelmed that we don't know if our heads will ever get above water! I'm really grateful for insurance though because that number would be outrageous!

So, now I'm wondering what else will be hitting us next. Maybe we'll have insurance paying everything soon since we are closing in on the out of pocket all around. UGH, what a weekend.

I hope you're all having fun! We will be having fun with friends tomorrow.

Grateful to be a mom!

I have to say I love hanging out with my Hannah. Tonight it was just us girls while the boys went to father and son's camp out. We went to see the new Hannah Montana movie and we both loved it. I was so surprised I actually liked the movie. After the movie, we came home and watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua which was alright in my opinion and Hannah was mostly impressed. I pulled out our huge air mattress so we could snuggle the night away. She fell asleep not too long ago after reading one small story. Tomorrow we plan to eat strawberries for breakfast then go to the zoo. She is really the best little girl anyone could ask for. I'm so happy she's a mommy's girl right now, I'm really enjoying her wanting to snuggle and learn from me. It won't last long and I'm relishing the attention.
Jaidyn has turned into a daddy's boy and really loves helping Marc in any way he can which is really awesome and heartwarming to witness. He will be an amazing young man when he grows up. There's something about him and it's not just because I'm his mom. He's doing so well in his preschool on the computer. He now knows how to write and spell his name which he couldn't do a week ago. AMAZING! I'm proud of both of my children and am honored to be their mother.

Locks of Love

So a blog that I follow is wanting volunteers to donate ten inches of hair each for other children who need wigs due to whatever reason. I explained to Hannah what that meant and she decided she wanted to donate too so this fall Hannah will donate her hair for this great cause. Here's a link to the site I follow, she needs more volunteers so if you're interested join the cause! She also posts really cute hairdo ideas for girls and is a great site for ideas.

Today

So, today is a special day for me... It's the day I gave birth do by daughter and placed for adoption. She turns 13 today, my how time has gone by. I'm so proud of the young woman she has become and very proud of the decision I made to place her with such wonderful parents. They are amazing and I love them as well. It's crazy she is as old as she is, I remember being 13 and being so happy to be a teenager. I really hope she has a wonderful day today with her family.

My son also celebrated his 12th birthday on April 18th. He received the Aronic Priesthood and was able to pass the sacrament as well. I'm amazed at the young man he is becoming. I'm told he is so willing to serve others and is preparing for his mission by doing what he can and learning a lot from his parents. I'm so grateful for him being in my life even if it was just a few short months then when he was born, two short days.

I placed these two with the same parents so siblings wouldn't be apart. Like I have said before, I'm so grateful for the blessing of bringing these two special children to earth for their parents who otherwise couldn't have children. I'm also proud of the woman I have become today thanks to all the many trials I've been blessed with.

Happy Birthday Kennedy and Kaden (April 18th), I love you.

Simple, yet touching

Tuesday's Ramblings

I've discovered I'm not too exciting these past few days. There's really not much going on with us. We've been hanging out with more of our friends these past few weeks and it's been so much fun to be with them. I feel we have some great friends.

Hannah and Jaidyn are excelling in their own ways. Hannah has had a growth spurt and a lot of her pants are too short, maybe I can fold them to make capri's or something. Good thing it's almost summer so we don't need to get more pants until later. She's been trying Jaidyn's school, UPSTART, and loves it. She's doing a really good job and tested higher than what her age group should be.
Jaidyn is also growing. He's all boy and loves playing in the dirt with his dirt trucks and such. He's also gone through a growth spurt and is turning into a little man. He's also liking UPSTART, but we've discovered he has a hard time sitting for the 15 minutes it requires. He also tested above grade level and is really smart.
We are so proud of Hannah and Jaidyn and the children they are becoming. I'm truly grateful to be their mother since they teach me so much every day.

Jaidyn's pre-school

So I saw a news article on KSL about a controversial pre-school program for children. It's free and it's called UPSTART which is provided through the state with grant money. (which was why it was controversial) I really wanted to get Jaidyn into pre-school, but couldn't afford it.
This was like an answer to prayers. The Waterford Institute supports it and it's really cool. We've just gotten into it, but you first install the software they send you and your child takes a test to see where their strong points and weaker points are so it can cater the learning for your child. Jaidyn is half done with the test and he likes it so far. It's done for 15 minutes a day minimum, or your child can do more if they want to. There's a limited amount of kids that can do it so if you want to try to get your child into it too, here's the website. www.utahupstart.org
I'm excited to see how far Jaidyn can come with this and how ready he'll be when kindergarten comes around.

WOW!

I am amazed at my children! We went to dinner at a friends house tonight and they have a pet tarantula named Shiloh which they pulled out for all to hold. MAN!!! I HATE spiders!!!! My children were so brave and each held the spider. When it came to them asking me to hold it, I promptly started to cry. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me, but that's true fear for you right? We had lot's of fun and really appreciate good friends.
